Why I am here!

Nate and Jenni Waterfall
My husband who pushes me to be my best everyday!

My name is Jenni and since I was little, (let’s say 7 since I don’t exactly know when) I wanted to be a conservationist. Did I know what that meant? Maybe, but I knew I loved animals, and wanted to teach people about them and save them all!!! My inspiration for this came from the late Steve Irwin, who I think of as my idol and the original conservationist. Going froward through many years of school I still believe my end goal in life is to be a conservationist and educate people on saving animals! Irwin was very passionate when he talked and I live my life by many strong words he shared. One quote that I have always lived by is “If we can teach people about wildlife, they will be touched. Share my wildlife with me. Because humans want to save things that they love”. I have always thought that if I teach people about animals and make them love them, then they will want to save them. Which brings me to my current step in life, Graduate School! (Dum, Dum, DAHHHHHH!!!)

Meeting a wallaby at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park!

Currently I am in a graduate program and had the best opportunity and experience during my Conservation Education class during our visit to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. We had the amazing opportunity to meet and visit some kangaroos and wallabies. This experience was one of those once in a lifetime things, where we got to go into the newly opened Walk About Australia exhibit that opened the summer of 2018, and actually take part in a behind the scenes experience. Being able to actually be right next to, and get to touch these beautiful creatures almost brought tears to my eyes. Having experiences like this is what makes people want to save and protect these animals!
